THE CITY OF AUSTIN, PARKS AND RECREATION,
SELECTS SPS GOLF MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
Clinton, MD, February 15, 2007 – SPS Golf Management Solutions (SPS GMS) announced today that it has been chosen by The City of Austin, Texas, to provide their Web-based Golf Reservation and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for four public golf courses in the City. The City of Austin will join over 200 golf course clients who currently use SPS GMS products.
The City of Austin will be providing its citizens the convenience of being able to book reservations for golf online, from anywhere, at anytime. Steve Hammond, the PGA Head Professional at the City of Austin, said, “better tee sheet management is going to allow us to really concentrate on the slower times, and that is going to help us grow our business.”
“After an extensive search for a POS system that would allow us to book tee times online, we found that having a Web-based system is the best way to go. Having everything stored offsite means that if our computer crashes, we won’t lose any of our information,” stated Hammond. Carla Jobe-Partington, IT Project Manager with the City of Austin, said, “the SPS GMS application allows for Web-based integration between the online tee time and Point-of-Sale (POS) applications, which was a key requirement for the City Golf Courses.” Hammond added, “We were really impressed with the SPS GMS deployment staff and their willingness to completely set everything up so we wouldn’t have to do the tedious part of getting every single item entered into the system.”
